Today’s technology landscape is moving too fast to keep track of everything at once. There are too many new tools, websites and too much advice to reliably become an expert on any one thing without the possibility of it becoming outdated or irrelevant. Going back to school is hardly an option, as even higher education lags behind relevant technology today. Also, competition for positions within enterprises where keeping up to date on the latest technologies is a full time job has become an echo chamber of experts who talk and hire each other. This led me to start my own software development business last year, www.corkysdevshop.com. For these reasons I’m going to create my own open source internship series of blog posts on an array of topics in technology. My hope is to not only become more proficient on the topics I study, by possibly receiving expert feedback from the programmers I know, but also to inform others of the topics I choose as well. Enjoy.
